Disinfection & COVID-19 Domestic Cleaning

COVID-19 has, for all of us, changed the way we live, work and interact with others. The risk that COVID-19 poses to out lives changes dramatically for each of us as an individual. What we have learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is that regular, and appropriate cleaning and disinfection is now more critical than ever.

Our COVID-19 disinfection program was born in 2020, and has been developed to assist all those, from offices, workplaces and the domestic environment. Our cleaning team have all received the appropriate training in line with Safework Australia, and department of health and human services guidelines and regulations and includes the use of appropriate PPE, sanitizing and disinfection products as well as the process to disinfect any and all environments appropriately.

Along with proper hand hygiene, social distancing and wearing a mask, the Victorian government, DHHS and safework Australia have outlined guidelines for the sanitizing and disinfection for private and public premises.

Workplaces need to clean and disinfect surfaces – both steps are essential. The first step is cleaning, which means wiping dirt and germs off a surface. You can use common household detergent products for cleaning which are stocked at supermarkets. Cleaning alone does not kill germs.

During the initial cleaning of your home, the Allspot cleaning team reviews all of the areas in your home deemed ‘high touch’ including electronics, desks, benchtops, low and high surfaces, doors and door handles etc. The team will then once again go over your house with the hospital grade disinfectant and wipe down all surfaces. All surfaces should then be left alone for 10 minutes to allow the disinfectant to kill any viruses that remain on the surface.
